We met at the cinema school INSAS. As two people with complementary skills and with the desire to produce young Belgian and International cinema together, we founded Specimen Films.
Laure Stemmann
After a double degree in philosophy and cinema at the University of Paris, Laure Stemmann worked as a production assistant at Eaux Vives Productions (Paris) on international productions such as Emily Atef’s Plus Que Jamais (Cannes Festival 2022) and the latest films by Paz Encina, Emiliano Torres, Nabil Ayouch (Casablanca Beats) and Maryam Touzani (Adam, The bleu caftan). With a master’s degree in film production from INSAS, she moved to Belgium to perfect her experience in executive production, European co-production and distribution, working at Anga Productions and in cultural management at the Arab cultural centre Lagrange Points Brussels. She was a development consultant on Mnema, Selim Gribâa’s first Tunisian feature film, with Intage Production. In the summer of 2023, she has been organisasing with Metropolis Cinéma in Beirut the 28th European Film Festival in Lebanon. She joined again Anga Production at the end of 2023.
Lucas Stephanik
Lucas Stephanik, who has a degree in private law from the Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris, first experiences in the legal and business affairs department of the production company Quad Films before following the creation of several projects. He did a master’s degree in film production at INSAS and continued his experience at Artemis Productions in Belgium. With the desire to work alongside film crew, he became production assistant for several Belgian project. Closer to the shoot, he worked as location manager and production manager for projects in France and Belgium. At Umedia, he trained in Tax Shelter. In parallel, early 2024, he joined Beluga Tree as production coordinator.
